Equipment

  • 1 medium pot with lid
  • 1 wooden spoon or spatula
  • 1 sharp knife
  • 1 cutting board
  • 1 large serving bowl

Ingredients

  • 1 cup popcorn kernels
  • 8.8 oz sausage sliced
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Salt to taste
  • Seasoning blend to taste

Instructions

  • Slice the sausage into medium-thick rounds so it browns evenly and stays juicy during cooking.
  • Melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sausage and stir until a light golden crust forms, which deepens the flavor of the popcorn with sausage.
  • Add the popcorn kernels and stir for a few seconds to coat them in the flavored butter and fat released by the sausage.
  • Cover the pot and slightly reduce the heat. As the kernels pop, shake the pot occasionally to distribute the heat and prevent burning.
  • When the time between pops increases to about two seconds, immediately turn off the heat to preserve the crisp texture of the popcorn with sausage.
  • Transfer the popcorn to a large bowl. Season with salt and your chosen seasoning blend, then toss gently to distribute the flavors evenly.
